Hello and Welcome to 5th Grade!
My name is Ruth Shivers and this year I will be a remote 5th grade teacher at Black Mountain Elementary. My years of educational experience include teaching reading as a Title I Reading Specialist, and teaching 2nd and 3rd grade at Black Mountain Primary. This is my 20th year of teaching in Buncombe County.
I love living in our small town of Black Mountain with my husband, two cats-Lilly and Maxine and our energetic dog-Kymba. You may see us taking frequent walks with him!
I am a grandmother to our beautiful 4 year old granddaughter-Evvie. We spend time at the parks, playing outside and reading lots of books!
